Heart Tugging Romance At Its Best!

There has never been a book written by Brenda Novak that I haven’t enjoyed. When Snow Falls is book two in her Whiskey Creek series. Well known for her place in the romantic suspense genre the Whiskey Creek series is her foray back into contemporary romance. After having been pleasantly delighted with the first book When Lightening Strikes, I naturally was ready to jump right into When Snow Falls. When Snow Falls has been written in such a way that allows you to watch this romance blossom into a full bloom.
When Snow Falls is Cheyenne and Dylan’s story and so very different from Gail and Simon’s story whom we met in When Lightening Strikes. Cheyenne Christensen cannot remember when it has ever snowed in Whiskey Creek, but she can remember the she has to take care of her dying mother Anita and her on again off again drug using older sister Presley to care for. When she begins having recurring dreams of a fancy child hood and a mysterious blonde woman, Cheyenne begins to question where she comes from. On top of all her other problems Cheyenne has been in love with Joe since she was fourteen years old, but she is not the only one who has feelings for Joe. When her best friend Eve announces that she has asked Joe to go on a date, Cheyenne steps aside out of respect for her friendship. Dylan Amos and his brothers come from the wrong side of the tracks. When Dylan makes a proposition that Cheyenne finds difficult to refuse, Cheyenne discovers an attraction to the kind of guy she’s always tried to avoid and discovers that Dylan just might not be as bad as he’s been rumored to be. As this romance begins to unfold her first love enters into the picture; torn between her first love and the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks Cheyenne finds herself having to choose between the two.
I loved this book, however early on I found myself reverting back to the cover blurb to find out if I had read the names wrong as we don’t meet Dylan until a ways into the book. The only man we meet early on is Joe, and you really begin to think the story is a romance between Cheyenne and Joe. However once Cheyenne and Dylan eventually meet this book soars and meets all expectations of a Brenda Novak tale. I had a hard time putting this one down, it is filled with emotion that makes you just want to cheer these two lost souls on.  When Snow Falls was well written and will tug at even the coldest of heart strings. I cannot wait for the next books in this fantastic series. It is easily a 4.5 star book.

No One Left to Tell is a Must Read!

Karen Rose has done it again. No one Left to Tell is packed with fast moving action and tender romance. This quote from No One Left to Tell fairly well summarizes the plot "Serial child molesters, murderers, case fixers, a cop gone bad,and a mastermind eliminating anyone who gets close to the truth. Makes my head spin.".If you are a fan of the fast paced high adrenaline romantic suspense then this is the book for you.No One Left to Tell is PI Paige Holden and Assistant State Attorney Grayson Smith's story. Paige is a beginner PI who is trying to prove the innocence of Ramon Munoz, a convicted murderer. ASA Grayson is is the one instrumental in putting Ramon behind bars. Ramon's wife Elena hires Paige for help as they are adamant that Ramon is innocent. When Elena manages to obtain the proof of Ramon's innocence it is met with dire consequences. With Ramon's proof in hand Paige finds herself in need of someone she can trust and who better than ASA Smith who put Ramon in prison in the first place setting the stage for this fantastic suspense. Along the way Ms. Rose brings back a cast of familiar characters like Olivia, Thomas Thorne, Lucy Trask, Clay Maynard and Stevie Mazetti each who've had previous places in other novels.
There is a reason why Karen Rose has risen to the top of my must read suspense authors and No One Left to Tell is a prime example of it. No One Left to Tell will keep you reading well into the night. This is one of my must haves of the year!

An Utterly Delightful Romp!

Samantha Grace has done it once more. Lady Amelia’s Mess and a Half is a delightfully fun romp. Jake and Amelia were once young and in love but with a series of misunderstandings and a mess of trouble makers in their way these two lovers set out on different paths. Lady Amelia is a widow who never stopped loving Jake Hillary. For two years Jake has felt betrayed by Amelia after she gives her hand in marriage. However at a chance meeting at a ball the sparks once more begin to fly between these star crossed lovers when Jake’s own brother Daniel expresses interest in the beautiful widow. We soon follow Jake an Amelia from London’s glittery ballrooms across the seas to New Orleans in this tender and fast paced novel. One cannot help but cheer Amelia and Jake on as they once more find their way into each other’s hearts. Add in a mix of fascinating and fun characters and you can be assured that Ms. Grace has a knack to mingling laughter and tender moments together in order to create delightful reading material. Lady Amelia’s Mess and a Half is the second book in the Beau Monde Bachelor series, yet can be read as a standalone. If the first two books are any indication of Samantha Grace’s writing talents, one can be sure that she can be compared to some of the greats like Julia Quinn and Lisa Kleypas.

Sylvain Reynard's Gabriel's Inferno

Move over Christian Grey...........I've found something much better and much better written with a surprise twist!  Gabriel’s Inferno has just the right mixture of complexity and sensuality to make it a stunning read. Much like other books in its genre this book has the deeply troubled hero and heroine, but what sets it apart is the sheer beauty of watching as this pair unfolds into something beautiful.
“Enigmatic and sexy, Professor Gabriel Emerson is a well respected Dante specialist by day, but by night he devotes himself to an uninhibited life of pleasure. He uses his notorious good looks and sophisticated charm to gratify his every whim, but is secretly tortured by his dark past and consumed by the profound belief that he is beyond all hope of redemption. When the sweet and innocent Julia Mitchell enrolls as his graduate student, his attraction and mysterious connection to her not only jeopardizes his career, but sends him on a journey in which his past and his present collide. An intriguing and sinful exploration of seduction, forbidden love and redemption, "Gabriel's Inferno" is a captivating and wildly passionate tale of one man's escape from his own personal hell as he tries to earn the impossible...forgiveness and love.
Julia has suffered abuse in all shapes and forms from the time she was very young and continuing into her young adulthood. It has turned her inward into this meek shell of a female. Her torture at the hands of her ex leaves her feeling unworthy of her Dante’s love. Early on Gabriel Emerson a Professor at the University of Toronto comes off as a very dark and hateful man. Who out right lashes out at Julia in class early on in the story, and yet quickly he unfolds into this very troubled enigma of a man. Soon he realizes that Julia just might be the “Beatrice” that he’s been seeking. They are strangers or so they seem, little do either realize that they’ve known each other at a much deeper level for many years. Throw in many interesting and important secondary characters whose stories demand to be told, and a non fraternization rule and you have the makings for one fascinating story.
If you are looking for a steamy erotic, you are going to be hard pressed to find it in this very realistic and thought provoking novel. What Gabriel’s Inferno lacks in the steamy bed scenes it makes up for it in the sensuality and the sheer beauty of its story. The story is about redemption, forgiveness and love. I fell in love with this book by the sheer passion and understanding feelings this author’s writing creates. Sylvain Reynard clearly took his time developing and plotting out characters and a story that worked very well together in a story that demands to be told. The sheer levels of jealousy, heartbreak, humiliation, and romance he blends together that will leave you clinging to the end of your seat begging for more!
Easily a 5 Star Novel.

A Teasing Novella!

A Season for Sin is a preview novella for Vicky Dreiling’s upcoming Sinful Scoundrels series. A novella is typically a short story with all the elements of a book including a beginning and an end. While  A Season for Sin is short, it is a sample of what's to come from Ms. Dreiling’s upcoming spring release What a Wicked Earl wants, it is a story in itself. The novella introduces us to Andrew Carrington, Earl of Bellingham and his friends Colin Brockhurst, Earl of Ravenshire and Harry Norcliffe, Viscount Evermore.  It also introduces us to Laura Davenport, Lady Chestfield, who has been a widow raising her step-son Justin for some time.  Justin, Viscount Chestfield is a wild handful in need of a male’s presence, thus begins Laura’s novel solution to this ever growing problem.  Laura is forced to make a deal with the devil himself, thus hooking the reader into wanting to grab the entire book right in that moment.
I have loved all of the books penned by Ms. Dreiling and I’m sure that What a Wicked Earl Wants will be no exception of the rule, as a rule I am not a fan of novellas because of their briefness but this one is worthy of your time. If you are a reader that cannot wait to get your hands on the next of Vicky Dreiling’s writings then this is a great way to tie over you appetite. The novella does have all of the wonderful elements that the author is known for, witty dialogue, interesting characters, and sizzling romance. It is a fantastic teaser, but a teaser it is.
4 for the briefness, 4 stars for the writing.

Strong Romance and High Octane At Its Best!!

Wow! Hold on to your seat for a sexy and wild ride in Joan Swan’s Intimate Enemies.  The book hooked me in right from the start. Set in Ensenada Mexico, Cassie Christo discovers she is about to have more than her fair share of trouble.  Desperate for answers following a mysterious yacht explosion that killed her mother and step-brother, Cassie sets off an investigation by asking questions that many do not want answered. The one thing she didn’t expect was the one person who offered her comfort and kindness during her darkest hour. Rio is an undercover agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and has been working on the biggest sting of his career. He has never forgotten the short time he spent with Cassie and quickly discovers that the attraction he felt all those months ago is still alive and well. However, Rio doesn’t have time for Cassie, he is determined to put a close this sting operation.  Little does Cassie know how close to this case she is as her step-father is one of the masterminds behind the illegal human trafficking network. All Rio wants is for Cassie to go home where she can be safe and out of his mind. Sparks soar as these two strong willed individuals come together in a wild ride.
Readers are sure to fall in love with this strong willed pair. Intimate Enemies is one of the best black ops books I’ve ever read. If you love authors like Cindy Gerard and Lora Leigh, then this is definitely the book for you. Fasts paced and sexy are the two words that come to mind when describing Intimate Enemies; it is full of high octane and searing romance.  Joan Swan has once more easily written a 5 star book. I know that I for one cannot wait for the next book in this thrilling series.

Loving the Wonderful Ms. Kramer!

Leave it to Kieran Kramer to write a regency twist to the Brady Bunch!  Kramer has a natural knack for penning fantastic romances that can be tied back to pop culture.  In Loving Lady Marcia the author once more does not disappoint.  Out of three sisters, Lady Marcia seems to live a charmed life. At the tender age of fifteen Lady Marcia fancies herself in love with Finn the young and reckless rake. After devastating news that her true love has been shipped off to greener pastures, Lady Marcia retreats to a life as a headmistress of a girl’s school. Four years later and determined to remain single despite her family’s pressure for Marcia to marry, she settles for a life she believes to be her destiny.  Enter in Lord Duncan Chadwick, Finn’s slightly tarnished older brother. All it takes is a single glimpse of Marcia for Duncan to become fascinated with the lovely Lady. The sparks begin to fly as these two come together. Yet the road to romance is not as simple as it should be when Finn returns determined to reclaim this ravishing beauty. Loving Lady Marcia is a delightful book with all the elements needed for a gem of a book. You cannot help but fall in love as Marcia and Duncan come together and overcome the obstacles that seem to fall in their paths. Once more Ms. Kramer has written a keeper of a novel. I highly recommend this book if you are a fan of the sweet and funny regency romances.

Wonderful Trilogy, But Fifty Shades They are Not!

The reissues of the Sleeping Beauty trilogy are being marketed towards fans of the Fifty Shades of Gray books.  Having read both series, I can safely say that there are very few commonalties in these books outside of both containing BDSM elements. The key factor that is making the Fifty books so wildly popular is lacking from the Sleeping Beauty books and that is the romance between the main couples.  One cannot compare Beauty and Prince to Christian and Anastasia. I would class both books in different categories. The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty and its sequels Beauty’s Punishment and Sleeping Beauty’s Release are erotic novels, about the exploration of BDSM between Beauty and the Prince. It is the awakening of what Beauty truly desires. I would more so compare Beauty to novels by the Marquis De Sade.
While they are not like Fifty Shades of Gray, I could not help fall in love with this series all over again. I first read these books in my teens, and still enjoy them to this day. They were originally written under the pen name A.N. Roquelaure, and being reissued under her true name Anne Rice.  If there is one thing that Anne Rice understands its fantasy and the Beauty series is just that fantasy. They are a classic fairy tale with a twist. Sleeping Beauty is under a spell and in rides the prince to rescue her, but not with a kiss but with ravishment.  This begins a new adventure for Beauty, a spectacular adventure full of BDSM and its rituals.
If it is eroticism and fantasy you are looking for then I Highly recommend the Sleeping Beauty trilogy. However if it is romance you are looking for, you will not find in the Sleeping Beauty series of books.  The Sleeping Beauty series is wonderfully written, and one cannot help but fall in love, but they cannot be compared to Fifty Shades of Gray.

Got Demon? Saranna De Wylde Does!

How to Lose a Demon in 10 Days is one of the funniest books I've read in a very long time. Grace has ten days to shake her Russian mobster ex and save her son. So what does Grace do? She summons a demon to do her bidding, and what she gets is not just any demon but Caspian who is not just any old demon but the Prince of Hell. Add in an entire cast that runs the gamut from a dead hooker turned dominatrix demon gunning for his soul to the devil himself and you have a laugh a minute ride. Typically a book this funny loses the romance side of itself, but that is not the case in How to Lose a Demon, the romance builds at a fun and sexy pace, making it an absolute delight to read. I have read many comical romance authors but never one that had me laughing from the first page to the last. The pure insanity of this book has me anxious to come back for the rest of the books in this series. If you're one that likes your light paranormal, heavy on the steam, and insane on the laughs then I highly recommend this book.

Edgy and Suspenseful!

A whim purchase and a good whim at that. The book contains a lot of back story about the main couple Devon and Luke. It also has a major secondary story that surrounds Luke's brother Quinn. All in all this was a good suspense. Fast paced in just the right spots, and it will keep the reader guessing until the end. The romance is plotted out in just the right way as to not take away from the over all picture of the book. I know I'll be hitting the second book in this series in order to find out more about Quinn.

Good Book, Andersen pens another delightful novel

I love Susan Andersen and I love anything she writes. That Thing Called Love as a whole is wonderful. It contains all the elements that I look for in a contemporary romance novel. Jake was little more than a kid himself when he became a dad. Sure, he'd dreamed of escaping the resort town, but he’d also truly believed that Austin was better off with his grandparents. Now he wants no, needs to make up for his mistake. He intends to stay in Razor Bay only until he can convince Austin to return with him to New York. Trouble is, with sexy, protective, utterly irresistible Jenny in his life, and his bed, he may never want to leave Jake is a nice guy and Jenny is one strong woman after overcoming various obstacles in her life. However I felt like there was not enough interaction between Jake and his son Austin. I also had issue with Austin being fourteen with a mouth of someone much older. There is great chemistry between Jenny and Jake builds quickly and it’s fun to watch as these two come together.  I enjoyed this book; I just I just wish, I had felt the connection between father and son......Otherwise a very good romance indeed.

What a Fantastic Debut!

Molly O’Keefe’s Can’t Buy Me Love is one fantastic debut. Can’t Buy Me Love has all the elements that I love in a contemporary romance, a pair of strong leads, with a good set of supporting characters.  A girl from the wrong side of the tracks, Tara Jean Sweet knows that opportunity will never knock; she’ll have to seize it. Elderly Texas rancher Lyle Baker has a dying request: He will give Tara Jean a stake in his leather business in exchange for a little family subterfuge. All Tara Jean has to do is play the part of a gold-digging fiancée to lure Lyle’s estranged children home. The mission is soon accomplished.

Now Lyle’s gone—and his ridiculously handsome son, Luc, an ice hockey superstar sidelined by injuries, is the new owner of Crooked Creek ranch. He’s also Tara Jean’s boss. But being so close to sinfully sweet Tara Jean does crazy things to Luc’s priorities, like make him want to pry her deepest secrets from those irresistible lips. But when Tara Jean’s past demands a dirty showdown, will Luc stay and fight?
It doesn’t take this book long for the sparks to begin flying. However there is no question that Tara and Luc are adversaries. These two have chemistry right off the bat, which keeps the pages moving and keeps the reader wanting to come back for more. Almost all of the characters involved in this book have been damaged in some way, shape or form.  This led to a depth that this reader didn’t see coming. I went into this book thinking it would be a light fluffy read, only to discover that it has some serious dark spots which made it all that much better. Fans of Susan Andersen, Carly Phillips and Jill Shalvis are sure to love this wonderful debut!

Fun in the Summertime Sun!

Believe it or Not is a fun, cute, and contemporary romance. Straight laced accountant Violet McGinn is at odds with who she really is, and when Violet’s psychic mother Moonbeam lands in the hospital it is us to Violet to take over running the family business. Drew Watson is the owner of the town’s local hot spot right next door. The only thing these two have in common is that neither believes in psychic phenomenon. Yet, Drew seems to play the right songs at the right time that tend to get Violet’s heart jumping. Believe it or Not is fun fun fun! This is one perfect summer time read.

What a Delightful Romp!

Jill Shalvis has done it again! She has assembled a cast of memorable and lovable characters that will keep readers coming back for more. The Lucky Harbor series has quickly become a favorite of mine. During the last year Chloe has moved to Lucky Harbor to help her two half- sisters Tara and Maddie start up a bed and breakfast, but Chloe is a known wild child. She enjoys her freedom which often times gets her into trouble. Sawyer is Lucky Harbor’s straight laced sheriff, who after his troubled filled teen years has turned his life around to become one of the town’s most upstanding citizens. When these two come together sparks fly and personalities clash. It is almost impossible not to fall in love with this delightful family and those that surround them. Head Over Heels is one fun not to be missed ride.

Leslie Tentler isRomantic Suspense At Its Best!

The still of the night is once again shattered by Caitlyn Cahill's recurring nightmare—her brother standing before her, gripping a butcher knife, his eyes black with hatred. Two years ago, the former Washington, D.C., socialite defied her powerful senator father and risked the ruin of her family by helping the FBI link her troubled brother to a string of horrific murders. "The Capital Killer" was sent to prison for life…and Caitlyn's entire world fell apart.
Now, FBI agent Reid Novak is forced to rend the peace Caitlyn has found on a rural Virginia horse farm. A copycat killer is on the loose and slowly toying with Caitlyn—his ultimate target—in a terrorizing cat–and–mouse game. Almost destroyed two years ago by Caitlyn's family, not to mention the Capital Killer's haunting final murder, Reid vows to save the woman he's never forgotten or die trying.
After reading the first book by this new author, I knew I was hooked. I was anticipating a good book, but this book simply blew my mind. Ms. Tentler adds just the right mix of suspense and romance that will keep readers glued to the edge of their seats. I thought Midnight Caller was amazing, Tentler delivers and doubles in Midnight Fear. The ride is wild and crazy but oh so worth it! Midnight Fear is sure to make suspense readers want to clear a space for this shelf keeping book.

What a Delightful Debut!

Self declared bachelor Lord Andrew Forest lives for pleasure and offers no apologies. But he receives a dose of his own medicine when his family’s entrancing houseguest beds him, then disappears without so much and a good bye kiss. He’d love nothing more than to teach the little vixen a lesson about love and man…….however he cannot find her.
After the man of her dreams is revealed as a lying scoundrel, heiress Lana Hilary is ready to seek a match with a respectable gentleman…….if only they weren’t so boring. Unable to rein in her bold nature for long, Lana flirts with trouble and finds herself entangled with exactly the type of man she has sworn off.
Samantha Grace’s debut Regency historical romance Miss Hillary’s Schools a Scoundrel is a must not miss, a laugh a minute tale of two unlikely lovers who find a rather cluttered path to true love.
Following a disastrous broken engagement to a fortune hunting rake, Lana sets off to find a man who wants her and not her fortune. Lord Andrew is rich enough to care for her fortune, but he’s still a rake with no interest in the marriage market.  Lana’s over bearing mother has other ideas in mind when it comes to finding a husband for her daughter, and Lana wants nothing to do with it.
They cannot get each other out of their minds, and when they both discover they are staying at the same house party the sparks really begin to fly. Each have trust issues, and the road to true love is always rocky, but as Lana begins to discover that Drew wants to make their budding romance permanent , the fun really begins. As they both begin to learn about the other, the romance between Lana and Drew is fast and fun.  Over all this is one delightful book.
The interaction between all of the characters is believable. The writing is fast paced and smooth, the combines the right amounts of fun and steam. I cannot wait to read the next books in this series from Ms. Grace.

Shades of Desire Falls Flat

Natalie Jones is a survivor of an elusive killer who preys on young women and then disappears from view. Since her terrorfying ordeal, the once vibrant photographer has isolated herself in her home, paralyzed by fear and her failing vision.
Special Agent Liam “Mac” McKenzie has scars of his own. Despite his efforts to ignore the attraction that simmers between him and Natalie, he needs her help to catch a killer. Soon , they forge an alliance- charged with desire. Through a soft-focus lens, Natalie dares to envision a future with Mac beyond the investigation, never guessing that the clues hidden within her photographs are drawing them into a confrontation with a madman.
While I enjoyed the premise behind Virna DePaul’s Shades of Desire I felt it was lacking in relationship build up. The suspense in the book was well written; however Natalie and Mac spent more time bickering than getting to know each other. The next thing you know the pair is falling into bed with each other. It felt like the romance went from zero to sixty without any build up. There was plenty of sizzle without the simmer. I loved that both characters were flawed, and I liked the secondary characters, but the main couple in the book failed to grab me.
Ms. Depaul’s writing style is smooth and it flows very well. I have enjoyed other books from this author and will read her again. But Shades of Desire didn’t meet with the expectations that I have in a good romantic suspense.

Fun In the Sun with Roxanne St. Claire

Roxanne St Claire’s Barefoot in the Sand is the perfect Summer time read! There is nothing I didn’t love about this book, from the wacky secondary characters to Lacey and Clay themselves.  Barefoot in the Sand comes in with a roar, when Lacey’s because house is blown to bits by a hurricane. Rather than falling apart Lacey sees this as a chance to rebuild her life for herself and her teenage daughter, so she decides to take a chance and do what she has always dreamed of doing, running a bed and breakfast right there on the shores of Barefoot Bay.  In walks Clay the “architect” or so he attempts to make Lacey believe. Clay is full of his own family secrets and commitment issues, that he’s willing to give Lacey her dream for free. With a cast of zany troubled friends and neighbors this book will have you dreaming of love all while picturing yourself on a sandy beach with the waves tickling your toes. Barefoot in the Sand is such a delightful departure from Ms. Claire’s previous books. After reading this delightful book I cannot wait to return to Barefoot Bay and the following stories.

Weighing in on the Fifty Shades Debate

Fifty Shades of Grey is a New York Times bestselling erotic fiction paperback and e-book by E. L. James. Set largely in Seattle, the trilogy traces the deepening relationship between college graduate Anastasia Steele and a young business magnate, Christian Grey. It is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of BDSM. It is also worthy to mention that there are strong elements of Stephanie Myers’ Twilight Saga in them.
Have I read Fifty Shades …yes. Is it good …yes. In good faith I can tell you that it is worth the read. I would go much farther to say that if you are going to choose to read the book, you will need to read all three to under the story. I had a hard time putting them down; I read all three books in a short two day span.  I would also go so far as to give them a four and a half star rating.
This book has gained rapid notoriety for the subject matter. That being said, I have been reading Fifty Shades type books for years. I started with A N Roquelaure’s Beauty series, and continued in the John Norman’s Gor books. I have read every sub genre that romance has to offer, historical, suspense, and paranormal. There are hundreds of romances that have elements of erotica in them. There are many others that also have elements of BDSM in them including J.R. Ward, Shayla Black, Lauren Dane and the list goes on.  What sets these books apart from the norm is the sheer amount of erotica in them (we’re talking a sex scene almost every other page).  While it is an erotic novel, I wouldn’t go so far as to say that is all these books are about. When you strip away the erotic elements, a reader is left with a quite interesting and heartwarming story, where the hero is deeply scarred and the heroine that surprises you at every turn. This series isn’t a literary masterpiece but it can make someone think and most will find a connection with the key characters.  As for the Twilight connection, if you have read the Twilight books you will find the subtleties as they are there in the ways that the characters interact both with each other and on their own.
Fifty Shades is just what it is, an erotic romance. If you can enjoy a mature romance then this would be the book for you. However if you are a fan of the milder genre, then I would suggest ignoring the hype and pass them up.

I Caught a Fever!

I am a very fast reader, and it depends for me on how fast a book moves. Fever moves and moves quickly.I loved that Ms. Swan didn't cut corners either, it's gritty in the places you look for grit and tender where it counts. You will fall for Dr. Alyssa Foster who is kidnapped by prison escapee Teague Creek. Teague is a a wrongfully convicted felon in a high-security prison and all he wants to do is prove that he's innocent. Fever is a non stop thrill ride that left me wanting more. It made me laugh, cringe and cry in many different places. It's sensual not sexual meaning I can sell it to customers who love romance but don't need every other chapter to be a steamy scene. Romantic suspense readers who don't pick this book up will be truly be missing a great read.

Spine Tingling Suspense at its best!

Make room for Leslie Tentler, Romantic Suspense has found a new voice. In a spine tingling conclusion to her Chasing Evil trilogy Ms. Tentler takes readers on a nonstop roller coaster ride that begins with the first sentence and ends with the very last page.
When Mia Hale turns up bloody and disoriented on a Florida beach, the puzzle pieces begin to lock into place for FBI agent Eric McFarlane who has been called down to Florida to work a murder case that has the same ear marks of a case that he's been chasing for years.
He is called "The Collector" for his habit of claiming souvenirs from his victims. Following a three year break it appears that the Collector has resurfaced along the banks of the Jacksonville Beach. For McFarlane catching this sadistic mad man is personal. Mia remembers nothing of her ordeal, but agrees to help McFarlane buy taking part in an experimental hypnotism project in an attempt to regain those lost memories. With a growing attraction between Hale and McFarlane the suspense becomes that much more intense as they battle a ticking clock before this madman can collect anymore victims. Ms. Tentler creates the perfect mix of suspense and romance in this well rounded mystery. With her strong writing style this author kept me turning the pages for hours. I will say that this book is much more graphic than the previous two in the series but it does not detract from the enjoyment. If you love a little spine tingles with your romance then this is the book for you. I wish there was a higher rating scale for books than 1-5 because this book just rocked. Be sure to start this series from the beginning starting with Midnight Caller, and Fear of Midnight (book 2). These books are available where ever books are sold!

Wow There is Magic in the North!

Wow! If there is one new paranormal romance to read this year North of Need is that book. North of Need is the true definition of romance. It has passion, and heart, it will make you laugh and make you cry. And it doesn't lack in the steam department either.
North of Need, the first book in The Hearts of the Anemoi series tells the story of Owen and Megan. Owen is one of the gods of winter, and Megan is a grieving widow, in fact it is her tears bring Owen to life, however he only has a small window of time to earn her love and trust or he will melt away. Megan has been a widow for two years, and she still mourns the loss of her late husband, John who died tragically and unexpectedly. As Megan begins falling for Owen, her fear of loving and losing is pushed to the forefront. Laura Kaye has managed to write a paranormal romance that is fresh and heartfelt. North of Need makes you want to believe in magic.
I know, I for one am looking forward to the following books in this series. It is my hope that the heart that North of Need flows into each of the follow ups.(Available whereever books are sold)

What a Wonderful Read! Sharon Sala's a Field of Poppies!

To start things off I'd like to offer up what I believe is one of the best books written today.
I was once told by Sharon that Cat Dupree was her all time favorite character and to this point I had to agree with her. However she has so completely outdone Cat Dupree in this novel that I can’t see any character ever comparing.
Sharon Sala’s A Field of Poppies reminded me of the very reasons why I fell in love with the romance genre.  This book has more heart written into each word than any other book I’ve read in years. It will make you cry, it will make you laugh, and it lends meaning to forgiveness. Ms. Sala takes readers on a journey with Poppy Sadler following the death of her mother, and the brutal murder of her father. The book itself is full of the kind of plot twists expected from Ms. Sala, what is unexpected is the sheer emotional journey she takes with Poppy. It is a simply wonderful journey of love and forgiveness. This book was almost not published because the normal places couldn’t see where it would fit into today’s current market, oh how wrong they were. This book is exactly what the current market needs!
I loved everything this book had to offer, from the strong characters like Poppy and Justin, to the outright nutcase in Prophet Jones. If there is one book you buy this year make it A Field of Poppies as it is sure not to disappoint! Thank you Ms. Sala for making sure the world has it’s chance to read this stunning piece of work.
